The very first photo I took this morning was of frost on my windshield. It seems that the remnants of winter are still lingering. By the time we got back from our morning run, the budding leaves on the trees were aglow with the warmth of sunshine. New life is resilient.
Thought for today:
Life is a bit like the changing of seasons. It’s a journey, an awakening, a birthing. In our haste to recover from grief or reach our ambitions, we expect to see the changes instantly take place. We are frustrated when we don’t have instant success. We are confused when sorrows remain past their supposed expiry dates. We are disheartened to awake to frost on the windshield of our souls.
But every day the sun (the Son) arouses new life in our hearts and melts the frozen earth upon which we stand. Little by little buds emerge and begin to change the landscape into a sea of vibrant greens. In moments, there are still memories of winter, there remain some consequence of its presence. But with each passing hour, there approaches a warmer glow to our hearts. Spring IS coming.
Don’t miss the beautiful awakening of new life in an effort to reach the destination.
Every step of the journey is part of the growth that ultimately produces the bloom.
