I had the pleasure of teaching a workshop on macro photography today! I find it so exciting to see nature up close - all the little details that we miss with our own eyes. There’s a whole other incredibly detailed world that we never even notice.
One of the students (thank you Ricki!) pointed out a single dandelion seed caught up in a spider’s web. It looked so delicate hanging there by a thread. After the workshop was over I went back to the spot, and sure enough, it was still there even after an hour. The wind had tried to blow it away but the strands of web that entangled it had held on securely. For all I know, it’s still there!
I think of the web like a support system. When circumstances land us in hard times and we don’t have the strength to hang on anymore, those strands of friendship, faith, family… they surround us and hold us until the winds have passed. We can rest, knowing we are safely anchored by those who love us most and the One who controls all things.
Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
