Friday, we dropped the kids off at their grandparents for 6 nights while we ran a photography retreat in the Okanagan. They had mixed emotions - excited to get to spend all that fun time with Nanny & Papa, but sad to say good-bye to mom and dad for that long. Lots of tight squeezes and “be goods!” and “I’ll miss yous” were said and of course, a piece of this momma’s heart was packed in that suitcase.
The days went by quickly, the kids were busy and so were we. Before we knew it, we were home and they were in our arms again, snuggled up next to us for a family movie. Perfect life!
Thought for the Day
Family. The most incredible gift God has given us. To be loved unconditionally by these children, to be missed when I am gone, to be squeezed tight when I return, to feel that all is right in the world when they are home with me … well, that’s pretty much the most beautiful feeling imaginable. Thank you Lord for my family.
