It’s planting day today! Len has all of the new raised beds ready to go and once he wakes up, we’ll be putting our babies into their new homes. They all got quite a shower last night out on our deck. When I went to check on them this morning, there was a couple of inches of rain in their trays and there were water drops clinging to them like little crystals of rejuvenation.
We’ve been tending our plants for several weeks in the house and slowly hardening them off to the outside world. It has been an amazing process to watch - a tiny seed gets planted in the soil and within days it is bringing forth new life. That life will eventually be the nourishment that feeds my family and keep us healthy. It’s a beautiful thing!
Some of the plants didn’t come up - it’s hard to say why. Maybe the seeds were bad? Maybe the conditions weren’t quite right for them to grow. Even though we cared for them just like the others, there was no life.
Thought for the day
Just like these plants have the capability to grow and make a difference in our lives, so do the seeds we plant in our hearts every day. We can plant good seeds that bring nourishment and life or we can plant bad seeds that sit beneath the surface and don’t produce any good fruit. Let’s remember to keep our thoughts, words and actions healthy and positive “for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” - Galatians 6:7
