The kiddos are away on a road trip to visit their uncle this weekend so it’s just me and Len. We both spent the day busy with projects, but we made some time this evening to go for dinner. We sat outside and ate and shared our stories of the day with one another. Delicious food at Bliss Restaurant!
As we were driving home I said, “Why don’t you take me for a drive and we’ll see if I can get my photo of the day?”
“Where do you want to go?” He asked.
“Anywhere.”
So we drove and talked some more and admired the beautiful countryside. Eventually we ended up at a little dock. The air smelled like childhood days at the lake. The birds sounded like a chorus of happy kids on the playground. The last glimmers of sunlight danced on the water. And we held hands and enjoyed the moment—the very SHORT moment that it took for my camera timer to go off and take the photo!
But it was beautiful, none-the-less.
Thought for the Day
13 years since we were first married and lots of stories later, I still enjoy holding this hand. And I’m finding more and more reasons to do it lately. With so many marriages going through tough times, and not-so-distant memories of our own difficulties, I’m thankful to have this man by my side and to say that our marriage is stronger than ever!
If you haven’t held hands for a while, do it now. If you haven’t gone for a spontaneous drive in forever, there’s no time like the present! Fall in love every day!
