After a couple hours sleep, we were off on a 23km hike in the Babine Mountain range. We went up Lyons Creek Trail and down the McCabe for our descent. The views were absolutely stunning, the day was gorgeous and the exercise felt fantastic. Plus, we were easily able to fill the 9 hours with lots of chit chat.
The August temperatures were soaring up in the mountains, so we were thrilled when we reached this gorgeous little lake surrounded by trees and no people in sight. After a quick dip, we were refreshed and ready to keep going. Six hours into the hike, we reached the highest point on the trail and it was a gradual descent from there. We couldn't carry enough water to last all day, so Katie brought a nifty little filter that allowed us to drink water from the lakes along the way. (you can see her using it in the photo below.) We had an amazing day soaking up the panoramic views and cooling our feet in the clear mountain water. Let's do it again soon!
