As silly as it sounds, I have to admit that after several months away from “the camera” (at least as a professional photographer) I’ve been a little worried that I’ve lost my touch. Part of me has wondered if I’ve kind of become the old-timer, the has-been, the stale leftovers in the refrigerator of the creative world. Honestly! Our minds are silly things! So when my people workshop came around this year, and I had to do a ‘sample’ session in front of all my students… there were some doubts in my mind as to whether I could deliver.
To my utter blessed delight, Jodi Ballinger offered to model for me (despite the fact that 13 people would be watching the whole thing!) and showed up with a zillion adorable props and handmade outfits to boot! With Jodi’s infectious smile and contagious personality, my job was easy peezy! My nerves went out the door and I became animated with the joy of the single thing I love to do most: capture images of beautiful, genuine people!
Thank you Jodi for giving me that gift back!
Silly niggling doubts and fears so easily fill our minds. We forget the joy we once felt at the worries that overcome us and the voices that crowd our thoughts with negativity. Don’t let those insecurities stop you from reaching your God-given potential. There is within you the ability to reach out and journey far and dream big! While I am not physically capable of going back to work yet, I am breathing a sigh of relief and excitement that… I think I still got it!
What are these photos about? (Optional)
After my sample session with Jodi, the students each got to work with their own model. I crept up behind them for a few shots of my own! Lovely, beautiful ladies!
