It was one of those days.
There were a few disappointments and some tears. You know how life goes. Often the things we most look forward to end up being the biggest disasters. Unfortunately, it only feeds my belief that if I want something done right, I have to do it myself.
Frustrating situations.
We all have ‘em. We learn a lot about ourselves on the rainy days of life. I learned a lot about my kids and their resilience to keep running through their teary eyes. My son said to me, “I only cry when I’m confused. When I don’t understand, I just don’t know what to do. So I cry.”
Yup, buddy, I know. I feel that way sometimes too.
Thought for the Day
It reminds me to keep my eyes on God. Life lets us down sometimes, people let us down. No matter how hard we may work to prepare for something, there are times it doesn’t work out the way we thought it would. No matter how much I try to make life fit into the box I want it to, most of the time it has a mind of its own! I’ve learned that the only one I can truly rely on is the Lord. So, today, as I deal with emotions related to a couple of disappointing situations, I’m going to meditate on this verse and remember that He always knows what’s best.
Colossians 3:2
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
